Faith in Requiem

It is important to note that Dystopia Rising NY will explore themes of religious intolerance and persecution. To that end, players who choose to play an Accensorite or players who choose to invest in the religious side of the aberrant path of skills can expect a higher level of conflict. This doesn’t mean you should expect to die instantly. It doesn’t mean you should expect to be excluded. It doesn’t mean you will not be able to participate in the game. We have no reason or want to exclude your style of play from our events. It does mean that by opting to play one of these types of characters there is an understanding that due to the setting of Dystopia Rising New York there is a higher probability of conflict role-play being initiated with you.

We want to explore religion in our game on a deeper level than has been explored before. We want players to have to defend their faith and their flock. Requiem is a town built on hiding away. We want good, solid religious roleplay to come from this conflict. Some examples of interesting ways this can be done include:

  • Secret religious symbols to signify who is part of a faith.

  • Hidden and secluded congregation to worship and hold baptisms.

  • Code phrases, drop points, secret handshakes to identify those you can trust.

  • Incite a rebellion.
