New or Updated Information
At 7 pm in the Great Hall, we have a social hour for returning players. Everyone is invited, come say hello to old friends and find out how you can help them return!
We had lots of updates to local mechanics. Be sure to review the following:
PFAs & PC Teachers: Players can now teach PFAs to other players (the Action Request is still required… you can’t just find a teacher and put it on your sheet).
Policy Updates: We have several updates for you to review, including how we handle “orange headbanding" and NPC safety.
March Blueprint Updates: Season and Murder Inc Prints have updated. Swap out your Murder Inc cards at the post office before you use them (recommended time: 10 am - 4 pm on Saturday).

Seasonal prints and Murder Inc prints have been updated:
If you have an item card made from a seasonal print, you can keep the card “as is” until it expires.
If you have an item associated with Murder Inc, you have to get the card updated before you use it.
If you bought non-attending and pre-registered for the SoCal National Event, we have plenty of items for you in your character packets. Some notes:
If you bought full build, you can use a self-teach (no PFAs) this month.
You should receive a new national print. You cannot make copies of this print until after the event.
If you pre-regged and did not receive an email confirming you did, please email us asap.
Recurring Information
Strain Variants. The following Strain Variants are in play this month: Bathory Sempers.
Don’t forget that if you eat a Raider or a Tainted at DRNY, you get stage one Bad Brain.
Remember, if you see an NPC with a purple glow stick, you only see them if you have a fracture, Bad Brain, or are part of a specific plot.
Standard Information
Dystopia Rising includes stories about violence, torture, drugs and many other difficult things, but there’s one topic we don’t include in stories: sexual assault. It is never appropriate to include the topic of sexual assault in your role-play or stories. If encountered, please inform a guide so that we can take action.
If you are in the woods and can’t tell if a nearby sound is an animal or not, call out “Are you an animal?” If you hear someone calling that, you must respond “I am not an animal.” If you get no response, make yourself as big as possible and back away slowly.

CAPs Calls
Players may use New York-specific CAPs to purchase Blue Plate Specials and G.O.G.O Gatherers simply by recording it on their sheet. You may also use the following Calls:
JUST SAY NO - Once per event, if you’re an Aberrant and in an Area of Effect or By My Voice call that targets Aberrants or does Aberrant Bane damage, you can spend 100 CAPs and call “Just Say No.” For that purposes of that one effect, you do not count as Aberrant.
NOT TODAY - Once per event, if you are using a crafting or gathering skill and are interrupted, you can spend 100 CAPs and call “Not Today.” Ignore the interruption, and take up to a 5-minute break from the task. As long as you return to using the skill within 5 minutes, you may continue where you left off.
NOTHING VENTURED - Once per event, if you use a combat skill and that skill is countered (i.e. your attack is Avoided) you can spend 100 CAPs and call “Nothing Ventured.” You regain the mind you spent to use the skill.
Challenge
You antagonize your target; who must target you with any attacks. This effect ends if anyone else attacks or does damage to the target, if you leave combat, or if the target cannot see you. This skill does not force a target to engage in combat, it only forces them to target you if they do so. Challenge can’t be used under the effects of Choking Blow, and is countered by spending 5 Mind and using Basic Social Influence.
Compulsion
Delivered by packet or area of effect, cannot be negated by Avoid or Mental Endurance. The target will follow a single command until the task is completed, nullified (i.e defend someone who then dies), the compulsion is broken, or the end of the event. The target must complete the command to the best of their ability. The target is unaware of the specific command until they begin to act upon it, but will remember all actions taken.
Unstoppable
Makes the user immune to all skills and items. The threat will respond with “No effect, Unstoppable” to a negated effect. Additionally all damage dealt to the threat is reduced to 1 damage and the threat will periodically respond with “Unstoppable.”

11:00 pm - Murder, Inc Meeting (Plot Event). Ask for the location at check-in. Specific times may shift by up to an hour.
12:30 am - Pallor Mortis (Plot Event). Defend the morgue during a Pallor Mortis!
Saturday (includes early Sunday morning)
8:30 am - Fia’s Pancakes & Bacon (Food). Serving hot food in the Great Hall. Note: this food requires in-game currency.
9:00 am - Smugg Mugg Thuggs (Food). Be at the Great Hall for breakfast wraps and coffee. Note: this food requires in-game currency.
11:00 am - Criminal Meeting (Plot Event). Ask for the location at check-in. Specific times may shift by up to an hour.
11:00 am - Military Strategy Session (Player Event). Totally not related to the Fallow Hopes in particular. Not at all. Inside the Anderson-Ambrosios Cabin.
1:00 pm - Brock’s Burgers (Food). Pay (in-game) money, get a burger. Will be on sale in the Great Hall before, during and after the snowball fight.
2:00 pm Hartley Pharmacy (Player Event). Come to the Great Hall for smokes, selling any loot, or picking up a Red Mist!
3:00 pm - Nike’s Tarot, Tea & Therapy (Player Event). Join Nike in the Great Hall for a cup of tea, and maybe get your fortune read, your head fixed, or just get some long needed therapy.
3:00 pm - Doctor & Therapist Meeting (Player Event). Medical and mental health professionals can meet at the Hospital. PSA - Pay your doctors!
4:00 pm - Penny’s Plant Dance (Player Event). Come get your farming done behind the Anderson-Ambrosios Cabin with friends! Sweet tea, tea sandwiches, and co-op plant dance playlist.
5:00 pm - The Society (Player Event). Join the local Gorgers for their Flesh and Blood banquet in the Great Hall!
7:00 pm - Lonely Streetz Block Party (Player Event). A pot luck dinner with music down by the Lonely Streetz cabins.
Sunday
10:30 am - ACME Labs Closing Meeting (Player Event). Discuss the weekend’s events and review lessons learned with ACME labs in the Great Hall.
